寓变于一:冯·格康传
Vielfalt in der Einheit: Meinhard von Gerkan
Meinhard von Gerkan was one of the most successful and sought-after contemporary German architects. As a co-founder of the architecture firm gmp · von Gerkan, Marg und Partner, he realized impressive projects worldwide until his death in 2022, with an impressive range of architecture of a high standard. There are few architectural challenges he has not taken on. His work comprises large-scale projects, as well as small buildings. He has been equally dedicated to solving architectural details as to the design of urban spaces or entire towns, such as Lingang (today: Nanhui) near Shanghai.
The biography, which was first published in German in 2015 and compiled in close cooperation with Meinhard von Gerkan, traces the impressive range of his work, based on personal encounters with people and places and on selected buildings, thus presenting over half a century of architecture for Germany and the world. It is now available in Chinese for the first time.
