The Zollinger Roof "less is ... Future."
Gallery Mutter Fourage
The Zollinger roof of the Mutter Fourage gallery, which was built in 1924 and listed as a historic monument in 2012, is the subject of this exhibition. The multifaceted possibilities and shapes offered by the construction method of the architect and structural engineer Friedrich Zollinger are both impressive and surprising. Having been overlooked for decades, the exhibition provides information on Zollinger roofs from the 1920s to today and, using models, photos, drawings, designs, and interactive presentations, illustrates the advantages and possibilities of this economical and efficient construction method for the 21st century.
In cooperation with the architects von Gerkan, Marg and Partners (gmp), the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and the Munich University of Applied Sciences, it is possible to bring this project to fruition under the Zollinger roof thanks to the financial support of the Association of Friends of Galerie Mutter Fourage.
