Since founding gmp ∙ von Gerkan, Marg and Partners Architects in 1965, Meinhard von Gerkan and his partners have written architectural history. It started with the design for Berlin-Tegel airport and by 2015 over 380 projects had been completed.
Based on 39 selected projects, the catalog published on the occasion of the exhibition “Aus freier Hand” (Freehand) on the 50th anniversary of the office provides an insight into the extensive sketch archive of Meinhard von Gerkan, who developed his designs in sketches throughout his life.
