gmp FOCUS: The Chongqing Grand Theater in China
The Grand Theater's sculptural architecture and its location on a headland above the Yangtze River opposite Chongqing's city center make the building a new landmark for the metropolis. A shell of frosted glass panels and the complexly angled and refractive surfaces allow the building to appear in ever-changing light moods.
